Touch-screens and access to the latest weather information were some of the features that were on display on the various electronic brand stands at the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Simrad's touch-screen NSS Sport series of class-leading multifunction displays made their international boat show debut at SCIBS.

Honda Australia launched its much-anticipated Honwave range of inflatable boats at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Pod drives proved popular in Engine Alley at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show for those looking for both small and larger leisure, or commercial marine engines. On display were the likes of Cummins' ZEUS and Volvo Penta's IPS, while Caterpillar, Hyundai Seasail, MAN, Scania, Twin Disc and Hamilton Jets also displayed their latest engine products. Outside of Engine Alley, Honda Marine, Mercury Marine and Torqeedo Electric Outboards were on display throughout the marine village and in the main pavilion.

Surprises at the Show - At SCIBS Update

Mustang 50 on show at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show

Though the first day of the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show was a little damp, this year's exhibitors have offered up a few surprises. Mustang by Maritimo pulled one out of the bag, showcasing a 50ft Mustang on the water (we will bring you some interior photos tomorrow).

Mustang also had a selection of their 32 Sports Cruiser on display while all but three of the Maritimos opposite have all new interiors and key models have had changes, such as the 440 which is now available with shafts.

Horizon Q70 Elegance On Show At SCIBS

Horizon on display at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

Horizon Motor Yachts Australia, will have the World Release of the Horizon Q70 Elegance at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

This vessel has a 5.95m beam and a length overall of 21.76m. The all new European design hull runs the latest C18 Acerts with 1150hp. The vessel on display is well appointed with four spacious en suited bedrooms plus a garage, accessible via a large hydraulic transom door.

SCIBS Preview - One Day To Go

Exhibitors from around the world are gearing up for this week's 23rd Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, being stage by Sanctuary Cove from Thursday, May 19 to Sunday, May 22.

With only one day before the show opens, at least 385 exhibitors will display a huge array of marine products and services within the Marine village, pavilions and at the marina.

O2G Challenge Launch Coming Soon

Pacific Marinelife will soon launch its O2G 2011 Challenge. The Oceans 2 Green 2011 Challenge has one simple aim. Challenging boat owners and marine industry related business to offset 20 percent of their eco footprint through the O2G program. Oceans 2 Green offsets boating, diving, fishing and carbon emissions through a range of forest, reef, fishery, mangrove and seagrass rehabilitation programs. Many that the offset has a real link to the marine environment.

Cabo on display at 2010 Sanctuary Cove Boat Show

Game and Leisure Boats is displaying a Cab 40 Flybridge ZEUS for the first time in Australian at SCIBS 2011. The will also have a Cabo 38 Express and 38 Flybridge at their on-water display on Marina E.

At the land display (OA4) they will have on show a Grady-White 209 and Signature 485SF, 540F and a 602F.

Facelift for long-term Maritimo Dealer

The team from Ormonde Britton's Maritimo Gold Coast

The world's first Maritimo dealership has undergone a name change and a facelift.

The dealership, based at the original Maritimo factory at Hope Island in south-east Queensland has been renamed Ormonde Britton's Maritimo Gold Coast, has launched a new Web site and recruited additional staff to strengthen the sales and support team.

Action-Packed 23rd Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

More than 70 world and Australian marine product launches are confirmed for the four-day Show starting on Thursday, May 19.

Some of the on-water stars include the world release of the Alaska 60ft Pilothouse Yacht-Fisher and the Alaska 46 Flybridge mid-cabin; the world release of Coral Marine's new 55ft power catamaran; and Horizon Motor Yachts Australia's world launch of the Horizon Q70 Elegance.
